Veterinary Physiotherapist BSc (Hons)
Hello! I’m Sophie, a Veterinary Physiotherapist based in Sussex.
Believe it or not, as a child I was actually afraid of both dogs and horses. It’s hard to imagine now, considering I share my life and career with them. Over time, that fear transformed into a deep respect and love for animals, which eventually became the foundation of my professional journey. I’ve been riding since the age of 8 and, like many horse lovers, spent countless weekends at the yard throughout my teenage years – just to spend more time around horses and learn all I could.
In 2025, I graduated from the Royal Agricultural University with a BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Physiotherapy. The degree involved three intense years of academic study, practical placements, and hands-on experience. During that time, I also worked full-time, cared for my own horse, and navigated the challenges of becoming a homeowner. It was a demanding period, but one that taught me the dedication and resilience I now bring to every case I treat.
Caring for animals isn’t just a profession for me – it’s a way of life. I’ve worked on a wide range of yards since my teens, from livery to competition-level showjumping, giving me a comprehensive understanding of the physical and emotional needs of both leisure and performance horses. Having rehabilitated my own horse through two significant injuries, I know firsthand how difficult that process can be for both the animal and their owner.
My passion lies in enhancing equine and canine performance, as well as supporting animals through their rehabilitation journeys. Whether it’s helping a sporting dog reach their full potential or improving the quality of life for a horse recovering from injury, I take great pride in providing compassionate, evidence-based care. I also understand how important it is for owners to feel supported and reassured throughout the process – and I’m here to be that trusted partner.
Thank you for entrusting me with all of your wonderful animals - I am so lucky to call this work.
